This is the unique original Gouache painting by Cecil Doughty.

Phoenix Park, Dublin, was the scene of murder in 1882. Lord Frederick Cavendish, the chief Secretary for Ireland and the under-secretary T.H. Burke were walking across the park when they were attacked by four men and killed. The incident harmed Gladstone's fight for Ireland's Home Rule.
