This is the Signed unique original Mixed Media art by Alan Hunter.

This is an original art board by Alan Hunter, the Sci-Fi Fantasy artist who started the Fantasy Art Society.

The board includes a section pasted on drawn in ink on charcoal, a zipper-tone section using several inking and overlay techniques, a darker black section which has had lines scraped away from it in order to create the image. The three sections have been pasted onto this board which also has original ink work drawing the three sections together. The board is signed in the bottom left ' A Hunter'.

This image was undoubtedly used as an illustration in a fanzine, and is typical of the illustrators' style.

Alan Hunter, who died in August 2012 aged 89 was a stalwart of the small presses, a contributor of beautiful and detailed cover drawings in a distinctive style. Hunter produced covers for Nebula SF in 1952-53 and much interior art for Nebula and New Worlds through the 1950s

A few of the corners of this art board show impact ripples. These do not affect the image area and can easily be hidden from view with a matt board.
