This is a Signed Limited edition print. An extremely beautiful large screenprint which featured as page 42 of Moebius's classic work '40 Days in The Desert'. From a limited edition of just 750 copies.
Showcasing a cross between the artist's ethereal imagination and precision skills as a pioneer of the modern science fiction genre, Giraud creates a future balancing the spheres of nature and mankind coexisting in harmony and magic.
Moebius helped form the way modern science fiction ideas have been established, and not only worked in the field of comics and graphic novels, but also worked on classic films such as Alien, Tron, The Abyss, The 5th Element and an unfortunately never completed version of Dune which was even to star Salvador Dali
His influence can not be overstated.
Several iconic exhibitions have been dedicated to the artist's work over the last 40 years including 'Trans Form' at the Fondation Cartier in Paris and a retrospective at the Max Ernst institute in Germany, which also showcased works by the artist created for books such as Paolo Coelho's The Alchemist, La Faune de Mars, and original paintings created for the Sony Metreon Centre in California, where artists including Maurice Sendak and Jean Giraud were invited to create interiors for entire floors. The catalogues for each of these exhibitions have now understandably become collectors items.
