This is a Signed Limited edition print. This is an extremely rare giant silkscreen print hand signed and titled by Moebius. There were very few pieces from the City of Fire (La Cité Feu) portfolio which were ever published elsewhere or as separate editions, this being one of the most glorious exceptions.
Aedena published this print in 1985, the heavyweight cartridge paper measures 1 metre across and is 60cm tall.
What makes this print even more incredible is the time taken to hand finish each individual print with painted details and highlights throughout, on top of the silkscreen image, so that each of the 300 prints are different. This particular example boasts incredibly vivid colours.
Darrow and Moebius collaborated on this together, with Darrow initially drawing the pencils and Moebius inking and designing colour ways. Comic folklore has it that the character to the far right hand side of the print (wearing the hat) is one of the first ever appearances of Darrow's famous character Bourbon Thret!
The beauty and scarcity of this print has it firmly cemented in legend.
Please consult the additional photographs to admire the beautiful print more fully.
Please note that there is a moon shaped crease to the left hand side of the print, which is photographed in the additional images and this has been taken into account when pricing the artwork.
This is #259 from a strictly limited edition of 300.
