This is a print. This is a fully screen printed edition of Moebius's classic Starwatcher IV, the artwork for which was also used as the front cover of Moebius Comics #1
It is incredibly rare that any of the Moebius Starwatcher prints become available, this forms part of a near mythical edition of science fiction collectibles. The first four Starwatcher prints were screen printed to incredibly high standards using extremely precise techniques.
This edition features edge to edge solid printing in extremely thick, vibrant inks.
A signed edition of 200 does also exist, but these now sell to enthusiasts for very high values.
Moebius helped form the way modern science fiction ideas have been established, and not only worked in the field of comics and graphic novels, but also worked on classic films such as Alien, Tron, The Abyss, The 5th Element and an unfortunately never completed version of Dune which was even set to star Salvador Dali... His influence can not be over stated.
Several iconic exhibitions have been dedicated to the artist's work over the last 40 years including 'Trans Form' at the Fondation Cartier in Paris and a retrospective at the Max Ernst institute in Germany, which also showcased works by the artist created for books such as Paolo Coelho's The Alchemist, La Faune de Mars, and original paintings created for the Sony Metreon Centre in California, where artists including Maurice Sendak and Jean Giraud were invited to create interiors for entire floors. The catalogues for each of these exhibitions have now understandably become collectors items.
