This is the Signed original Watercolour painting by Eric Parker.

Various scenes skilfully depicted by Eric Parker showing the development of the Horse Grenadiers.

Top image shows them as they were added to the Life Guards in 1673, the men being recruited from the dragoons.

Middle image shows Royal Scots Dragoon, or Scots Greys as they were then known, of 1681.

Bottom the Dragoons came into being in the 1670s. They were mounted infantry as distinct from horse soldiers, this basically meant the Grenadiers had better faster horses than the Dragoons.

From Ranger issue 38 published 4 June 1966.
