Having taken over part-way through 'The Warlords of Phoenix
', Peter O'Donnell was happy with Romero's work and wrote the next story 'Willie The Djinn
', especially for Romero: the script O'Donnell wrote played deliberately into Romero's hand with a beautiful Modesty, exotic locations, action, and bounteous ladies to focus on.
This strip is signed by Romero in the first panel and has a newspaper cutting of the printed published strip fixed to the back.
Modesty Blaise was Peter O'Donnell's most famous literary creation and has appeared in many popular novels and newspaper strips for nearly 40 years.
It is extremely rare that strips from this early Modesty Blaise become available as they are seldom let go by collectors.
One of a series of original Modesty Blaise strips from the story 'Willie the Djinn', the 19th Modesty Blaise adventure. Fantastic clean detailed pen and ink work SIGNED by this very talented and hugely popular Spanish artist.
